Testing My Framework

I decided to test my evaluative framework during Back To School Night. Mr. Adams was using his Apple TV to mirror his iPad. He had a quick presentation for the parents on Notability, so he was switching between note pages on the app.

1. Consistency:

The iPad worked fine. However, the mirroring on the Apple TV had a couple seconds of lag. The iPad disconnected from the TV once. Overall, since the malfucntion only lasted a minute tops, I would say it was pretty consistent.

2. Ease of Use:

Mr. Adams seemed very comfortable on the iPad. He was able to switch between different tabs very quickly. It's not accessible for students because students aren't giving the presentation, so this portion wasn't applicable. I think the technology was easy to use and did not hinder the presentation.

3. Enhancement:

The technology enhances the presentation. Mr. Adams made use of "cut and paste" in Notability to transition very quickly between slides. The Apple TV was very clear for parents to see. While showing the presentation, Mr. Adams also reads and supplements the slides with extra tidbits.

4. Accuracy:

For the purpose of the use of technology, Mr. Adams was accurate.

5. Engagement:

The novelty of technology is engaging for the parents. However, since this wasn't being used for content, this portion is not applicable.

Overall, the iPad and Apple TV graded pretty well. Given that this was a presentation for parents and not for the students, the framework wasn't too helpful in certain areas.
